Yikes. They said one broke out in the VC Highlands during the Parelli event.

Yes DH and I saw that one on the way back from SLT. Glad to hear you got your wish Tyler! Sounds like you had an awesome time!

Pam congrats on finding a home for JR!

Wow Sheryl! Glad your girls know how to take care of themselves! I had a huge cat hanging around here for months when my juveniles were out last year but I couldn't catch him, he was too fast!

Aubrey YEA for Petey!!!

But don't be wishing for more thunderstorms unless they are accompanied by a lot of rain! We get enough fires out here from these dry lightening storms.

Well I've decided to bring out the pump action bb gun with me and that should scare it enough where it won't be coming after them again. I'm not going to pump it up too much just enough for a feel of it but not penetrate it. I don't want to kill it, I just want it to leave the ladies and girls alone. But watching the ladies with the different stuff they've come across since being here I have a strong feeling Monique and Bella would really rip the cat up but I don't even want to see what could happen to them. This cat isn't tiny but not huge.

I can't wait for the get-togethers coming up. I hope everyone is making plans to come to at least 1 of them. I'll give my address out to people who pm me along with directions.

whats the parelli event?

I could see that Highlands fire (well, the smoke anyway) from out here! I had to go to Sears in Reno today and I went over the hill that way - it was still burning but it looked like they have it under control and are just mopping up.

So glad to hear that Petey has pulled through Aubrey! Parelli is a famous horse trainer that has a TV show, a series of DVDs on horse training, and also holds events across the country.

Sounds like your chickens are pretty brave, Sheryl. Good for them, although I think you are wise to give the cat some negative reinforcement with the BB gun!

We had more thunderstorms early in the afternoon today, with a lot of lightning over the Pine Nut mountains just to the south of me. I was sitting out under my patio enjoying the show.

The turkeys are 3 months old this weekend. The hen is now bigger than all of my chickens except Poppy (Black Am roo). The tom dwarfs all of them. I'm going to go out and get a picture of them to show you all.

As promised, here are the turkeys.

Assorted other pics of my flock. Difficult to get them alone because they all crowd around whenever I come into the run.

Wow! I love em'!

The chickens really do seem to be brave but I don't want to have anything happen to them. No cat tonight but I was ready for it. I think it's really scared right now so it might take another week for it to come out again.

Beautiful night tonight that's for sure! Goodnight all and have a great day tomorrow!

Love the turkeys!

Ditto. I want/need Turkeys. I blame BYC for my Poultry addiction.

Me too! It's all BYC's fault!!!
