Hi everyone! I was surprised to learn about the fire on the radio on the way into work this morning. My admin assistant lives in caughlin ranch. she's here but her house is in the evac area and i guess mccarran is closed now so she's not sure when she'll be able to get back home. a couple of years ago they had to evac as well.

Genny, your chickens are gorgeous! i'm a sucker for a big fluffy butts.

I will refrain from singing a particular song about big butts...ok, maybe I'll just hum it in my head.

Sunny, hope you hear from Ron! hopefully he's just been busy but when you do hear from him, you'll have to let him know he needs to check in here at least every couple of weeks.

can't wait for the show tomorrow. hopefully it will go on as planned despite the evacuation center. I'll be there all afternoon. I will be at a birthday party at roller kingdom in the a.m. Hopefully I'll be able to walk after roller skating. It's been quite a few years since I had skates on.

OH MY GOODNESS! Bartley Ranch is burning, I don't know how much is on fire but it is now burning. Boomtown has one of it's buildings there that was built in the mid 1800's this is so very sad. I'm so thankful we had our picnic there.

So far so good Genny. Not as bad as when we lived in North Valleys before. There we were in a housing development so it didn't really do any good to tie all our stuff down cause other folks didn't and we would spend the whole storm listening to lawn furniture, scrap wood, etc, etc slam into the house over and over. We've had a couple of small things hit the house so far but nothing huge. We got everything tied or weighted down so we're ok.
Dogs aren't thrilled with the wind storm though. They are hunkered down in the wind break area we set up for Samson before the 1st storm of the season and it doesn't look like they plan on moving any time soon. I tried to bring them in but they didn't like being inside. Go figure!

Small update on the fire. Steve had an appt at the medical complex behind Lowes and we just got a call to reschedule because they are closing all the roads in the area. Don't think they've been ordered to evacuate yet but no new traffic is being allowed in.

Aubrey that little splash polish is adorable!!!

This whole fire has me a bit wired........I am worried for everyone, but mostly for the animals - domestic and wild who will be caught in it.
