Nevadans?

No, only those already in the Standard can win those.

Winning AOV is as far as non-standard or non-approved bird can go.

Take for example both the Lav. Orp and the Mille Fleur Cochins - they can only be shown as AOV until accepted by the Standard. To be accepted by the standard, the bird must represent both the "outline" of the bird and breed true both in body style and color pattern plus be shown for 5 years.

I should clarify - at least this is what I am learning - I have not shown chickens in many, many years (did when I was very, young - kindergardenish).

Gaited???? Where are you? You should be answering these questions........He must be busy as a bee getting ready for tomorrow.

I don't think I can go to the show. I'm working until 4:30.

I've just been really busy lately (at work and at home), and I haven't been getting the update eMails again.

So what's new you ask? Well, this Sunday is my male turkey Thanksgiving's last day. My nephew is coming over to help me do the deed. Neither of us have ever done anything like this before, so it should be interesting. With a little help from YouTube, we feel confident we can do it.

I was thinking about you all this last week. I've come into possesion of a silky roo. He's adorable - he does crow but it's very high pitched and quiet compared to my Black Ams. Someone gave him to me to butcher but he's way too cute. I thought maybe one of you might want him. He's got a beautiful red color. I'll get a pic of him this weekend and post it.

There's no way I'm going to go through the hundreds of posts I missed, so you all will just have to give me the high points.
