i have never incubated before and i want to, so I need to know EVERYTHING. How long can you keep the eggs before you incubate? Is there a certain way to store them before incubation? What if the electric goes off during incubation? Etc etc

How long you can keep eggs before incubation is in my mind a matter of opinion. I find many only keep the eggs 10 to 12 days tops. When storing them I keep them in room temperature (low 70s) I keep mine in Egg cartons (eggs pointed side down) on each end of the carton I mark one side night and the other side day. I have a box that I can elevate one side of the egg carton on so it is not laying flat. At night (about every 12 hrs) I flip it to the other end of the carton and back to the other side the next morning and so on. This prevents the yolk from sicking inside the egg. When it comes to a power outage depending how long it shouldn't hurt the eggs much if at all. If it's for a period of time I have read of people wrapping towels around the incubator. When it come to how to keep temperature and humanities it depends on the incubator. So I can't chime in on that. I hope you understand how I keep my eggs if not let me know I will take pictures and show you. It is super easy. If I can suggest one thing PLEASE use 3 or 4 thermometers even if everything is brand new. I found even after calibrating My thermometer it started running 6 degrees low and I didn't know for days.
