A friend was cutting hay and chased a Turkey off her nest. He was afraid she wouldn't come back or he would run over them when he bailed. Well, guess who has 9 Turkey eggs in her incubator. I don't know how far along they are. I can see them moving around alot. I thought I would just leave them in the incubator untill I see a pip, then put them in the hatcher. What do you think? I also couldn't see running the bator with just 9 eggs so of course I had to fill it up with Chicken eggs.

Gloria, while you are acting with the best intentions you might want to check with your state Department of Natural resources to be sure you are not in violation of Federal game laws, since I believe you are discussing a wild turkey nest and eggs.

Here is a site with some interesting information on wild birds and the laws that may apply federally:

http://www.npwrc.usgs.gov/about/faqs/birds/feathers.htm

Just thought you might not know. What ever you decide good luck and happy hatching.

Turkeys take longer to hatch out than chicken eggs too...28 days plus you have to stop turning on day 25...

Not sure about the temp and humidity levels for them....might be different than chicken eggs but I have never hatched them so hope someone can come along to tell you if they do....

All 9 hatched. I had to help them out of the shell due to the fact that I didn't up the humidity. (I didn't know when too.) I left them in the turner untill they pipped. I am feeding them Dumore 20% Chick and Turkey starter/grower...Gloria
