Never seen a hen do this before???

Just lately one of my buff hens has started acting strangely. Its suddenly gotten hot here in the uk so i wondered if this could be why but then first thing this morning before it was hot she was doing it??

Basically, she puffs herself up and runs about with her wings and all sticking out..she also seems a bit grumpy with everyone else and has been quite aggressive towards the other hens?

It reminds me of a broody hen on eggs all fluffed up and aggressive towards others but she isnt sitting on eggs this is just when she is out with them all scratching for food or walking about the garden??

She is one year old almost exactly and she has never been broody before...??

I would guess that she is exhibiting pre-broody behavior and that shortly she will start to set.

That's what I'm thinking, also. The hormones are starting to flow and everyone's paying the price lol!
