Never seen *this* reason for shavings...

I am going to deep litter myself. With a large coop the scoop the poop has become a big chore. To keep it clean you gotta scoop daily; unfortunately, it means less time just sitting back n enjoying the chickens.

There isn't anything wrong with spending more time with the chickens, if that was what actually happens. But if you get fixated ( and who wouldn't!?) on keeping that sand clean, well....my girls get bored with watching me track down smaller and smaller pieces of poop and they leave, not without some eyerolling and sniggering, I might add. Now I just track that crap around on the bottom of my shoes and don't even bother looking down! Free at last, free at last LOL!

Oh, my gosh, thanks for the laugh! I know what you mean. Even shavings can make one crazy, though. My DH takes ages to scoop the main coop. I can get two others done in the time it takes him to do the main one. Can't figure out why he's taking so darn long. Then later I go in and see tons he's missed. I think he's really just standing around in there holding the hens in his arms one at a time.

Yup, I'm a scooper. A super dooper pooper scooper! An all the wee little crumbs, scooper! Soooo good to know I'm not alone!

Like, I have to get home from work and scoop coops, or else the sun won't set or something! Yup, chickens are perfect for my OCD...
