I'm the same way! I also prefer the shavings in my coop. I'm the same way about my goat barn too and have you seen how goats poop?! Just when I get the barn raked up here they come, "Oh, nice clean floor......" great, 40 bazillion new rabbit poop sized things to rake up. I have to make myself put down the rake and go in the house!

How sad, reading this all I thought was "Crap, I gotta go get some sand"-All that poop gets to me, Now I can clean it up, just will have to bed the boxes down heavily with straw to keep them warm.

Ooooooooooooooooooo Like the kind at hair salons? You just push the poop towards the little door and it sucks it all up. Maybe sends it right to the composter.... Cool.

Better Yet Let Them Figure Out A Way To Do A Chicken Genie, Like They Have Done With Cats, No More Scooping, It Scoops And Cleans The Litter For Us All We Do Is Add More Liter And Cleaner.

Thank you for sharing this valuable information!!! I scoop, rake and pick daily....I don't think I need to spend more time in that particular area and I do see how one could get a bit too over zealous.

DH asked me what happens to me when I go to put the chickens to bed, I'm gone for 2 hours.....

I have seen my husband use one of the shop vacs for that! We have a little shop vac that's useful for sucking up dust and cob webs in the coop, instead of using a broom. We don't use that one in the house.

He built a mini-coop/cage unit for several chickens inside one of the sheds, with a door to the outside. I've seen him using the shop vac to suck poo and shavings up, then later he dumps it outside.
