Never thought you could really get addicted to a website about chickens. I was wrong.

My mom has to hatch chicks in her first grade classroom and she makes me help, though. She refuses to touch them, they scare her lol. I've always tried to convince her to let me keep one... or two... or all... but she refuses to entertain the idea.
That's so weird! Strange that someone is scared of a fluffy baby chick.

She doesn't like any small animals that move unpredictably, especially birds with their flying. Her parents had birds growing up and they always scared her- they would just fly wild. She likes ducklings a bit better, but she'd rather hatch chicks because she can give them away earlier, lol. They hatch on a wednesday and by friday they're at their new homes.

Was she ever scared of you?

I'm kidding! I'm kidding!

But I've not seen an animal yet that moves more unpredictably than a toddler!

I'd love to get chickens someday, but my mom hates birds. Ah, yes, I am a teenager. While the other kids are addicted to vaping, I'm addicted to a chicken website. Smh
I am also a teenager. So last night when I was talking about getting a show flock there is also the part about convincing my parents. I find convincing them is easier when you have done extensive research on the topic. And I try to narrow down what I want exactly so that is why I asked for breed recommendations for my first show flock.

So, when you join the website all the members are like “be careful this website is addictive” and to myself I think, “ I’m never going to get addicted to a website I ask chicken question on.” Now here I am today spending four hours reading chicken forums.
I have had the same experience. I love this site.

Let’s start the day off with some chick pics. They are seven weeks.

Starting at the back the ISA brown is christa. The BR cockerel in the back is lightning. The BR cockerel in the front is dotty. The BSL in the back is Bebe. The BSL in the front is Midnight. And the BR pullet in the front is Oreo.

here is a close up of midnight. She is our friendliest chick. She always comes up when you walk up to the coop.
