hello all! I have 6 chicks that are about 7 weeks old. We brought them home just a few days ago and they have seemed to adjust well to their new coop and run.
We have 2 Easter eggers, an olive Egger, a black australorp, a buff orphington, and a barred rock. The 2 EEs, OE, and barred rock seem to have already taken a liking to us, frequently jumping into our laps, backs, and arms to roost and cuddle.
But the orphington and the australorp have not seemed to warm up to us just yet. I know all the birds have been handled since they hatched by the woman who we bought them from, and she didn’t seem to have any issues with them being unfriendly.
Are they just taking longer than the others to warm up? We spend lots of time in their coop and give them lots of treats. They will eat from my hands but very cautiously and then run if I move too quickly. Just wondering if that’s normal.
