Yes as ticks said she isnt "Young" in the sense that she relys on a parent....she is a young bird but old enough to survive on her own once fully healed.

Just an update:

I have found someone selling 6 week old male pheasants, so I am going to get little Lucky a friend. Just have to go pick it up this weekend.

We thought we had one already, as a friend called us yesterday to say he too had caught a young pheasant, that was just walking on the ground around his pool and we could have it if we wanted. We went over to pick it up and it turned out to be Red Tail Hawk chick. They thought it was a pheasant or quail, til we picked it up and heard that telltale cry hawks make. We thought for sure the mother hawk was due to attack at any minute. But the baby, which they thought couldnt fly, surprised us all and wiggled free, flapped its wings a couple times and glided off, just like an adult hawk. Unreal! Well at least I can add, baby hawk to my list of animals I've come into contact with!

Just a question, how much room are you giving them?
Also, see if you can snag a couple more hens. The rooster will mate with the hen too much and could kill her.

Right now the injured one is still in a small cage inside my chicken shed/coop.

I was figuring on a run about 15 ft long and 6 ft high. But I haven't had a chance to research the area they need yet or start building.

I am pretty sure it is a Ringneck Phesant. It looks female beause one got hit in the road so me and my dad got it feathers. I would check to make sure it gets along with your chickens first! You might have to make a separate pen for it!
