New Adventure into Chicken Farming

I have decided that I would like our family to be more self-sufficient. I would like for my children to know where their food comes from rather than let them grow up thinking that food is manufactured in at a grocery store and never having the chance to connect with what nourishes them.

This year my backyard will be adding a much larger vegetable garden and a small chicken coop (flock of approx. 4). I'm trying to learn everything I can so that this will be a rewarding experience all around.

I have hundreds of questions and was told that this is the place to go.
