Hi all. Just bought our first chicks; 3 of them. A Golden Buff, Speckled Sussex, and a Blue Andalusian.
We have been mainly dog and cat people, so this is kinda really exciting. My husband, Eyejuggler, also joined this page. (He is all fancy with pics. and stuff, me? not so much). :p My current hobbies are hiking with hubby and our 8 year old chihuahua/cattledog mix. Also I work on Intarsia (a type of wood art, fretwork (same), and beginning to do some carving. I am the keeper of the garden...weeds FEAR ME. Also we used to rock climb. (Me past tense..bad fall).
Anyway, enough of me.

I just welcomed your hubby and hope that you too enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

As I mentioned to Eyejuggler, you might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

condolences about the fall Welcome to Backyard Chickens the birds to care one iota now do they would love you to show pieces of work
