Better pics today. On the left is the six day old Ameraucana (Silver's baby) and then the one day old babes; the really light one, also Silver's and the darker one is Charlotte's-still has some dried gunk on its head or it'd be fluffier.
Lynn, looking at it this morning, that was my first thought, but it's supposedly impossible. I have a black rooster and a blue hen, so the only things that should pop out of the egg are blue, in varying shades, or black. It is extremely light and the most beautiful, delicate color I've ever hatched other than the Splash Orpingtons I hatched awhile back.
SeaChick, do you mean will all the Charlotte's and Silver's babies look like that? Nope, I have several black ones in the brooder and the nursery coop that came from them. I'm very pleased with these colors, even though my black cockerel is gorgeous with his green sheen, I am partial to all shades of blue.
