I'm new to this community and to raising chickens. In the spring we'll be converting our shed to a coop and getting 8 Australorps. Boy we can't wait. We moved to our half acre 2 years ago.I was supposed to get the coop going last year but kidney failure and cancer kinda got in the way. Everything:lol:s good now so we're ready to go. I have learned so much from the informative articles on this site that I feel like an old pro.Hi evi

You have a great attitude! Bless you!
Welcome to this site. I find I spend A LOT of time reading about emergencies, diseases, breeds and copying and pasting recipes!
Even crafts! I am saving egg shells now for a wreath.
I might be obsessed now.
Beware.
AND WELCOME TO BYC!

Hi and welcome to BYC, lots of nice people and great advise in here. LOVE the Australorps. I have australorps in the egg pen and breeding pen right now and soon to have black buff orps also to show, and I cant wait!!!! from a breeder in this forum.
I would love to see your birds when you get them. They are my favorite . we narrowed or flock to 8 right now and down to 2 in the breeding pen for this year for show birds, culled down to the best we had, we had 25 to start, sold a few and some of the hens are at my moms farm just doing the egg laying for her. sweet birds.. love thier big dark eyes, they just look freindly , the rooster loves me but gets a little testy with male specimines that visit the house.hee hee
