New and joined flock pecking

so it will be 4x14 with a 6x4 coop.
Adding 6' to the run may help a bit, but....
The coop size is your limiter.....unless the run is totally predator proof for 24/7.

Just because something is scratch built, doesn't mean it's a good design.
The ramp in there is ridiculously steep....and I see little ventilation except the one side opening that is not protected from rain infiltration.

I would think that a good coop designer in your area would have huge roof overhangs to deflect the frequent rains.

New run extension is on. Here’s my coop/run. Come Monday, I am going to be opening it up to my acre yard.

The run is a nice size for the chickens. I am sure the chickens will eventually start getting along. I had a buff orpington who was new to the flock and started bullying the production reds and drew blood from their comb and I never did anything about it because I was new to chickens and didn't understand and everything turned out fine. I would recommend separating if the chickens draw blood though I was just using an example that it is not that serious.

I will for sure. I get home tomorrow from work. I still have to tack on the anti dig wire (green roll off to the side). Pretty happy with it. I think the girls will be as well. So far, they seem happier in it.

Oh, and with the ventilation, I think I need to add some more, however, I am trying to figure out where, that will not create drafts. There is ventilation along the roof edge as the roofing material is "rolled or wavy" in shape, and creates a small, almost bird blocking aspect to it. The large opening seems pretty large, and susceptible to drafts and rain if I were to keep it open all day. I have been closing it at night, and I faced it towards the East ( most of our weather comes from S/SW). I'll add some pictures from inside tomorrow sometime and maybe get some input to square away the ventilation. But we do leave that large one open all day. When I open the coop (I keep the door at the top of the ladder shut at night as well as the long vent on the side) in the morning, it is dry and doesnt have a strong ammonia smell.
