Hello Byc'ers,
I'm new to byc and just wanted to say hello to everybody. Am from the sierra foothills and have found a new obsession/hobby in raising chickens.
The flock consists of 2 egyptian fayoumis, 2 golden laced wyans, 2 silver laced wyans, 2 EE's, 2 polish(1 buff & 1 black/white crested), 3 lakenvelders, 2 australorps, 1 dominique, 6 silkies, and 2 copper marans. The majority of the flock are ladies with the exception of 4 silkies which were straight runs and 1 copper maran. Only the copper maran is laying eggs atm since she and the roo are 6 weeks older then the rest of the flock. They were introduced to the flock only about a week ago and the bcm hen has some serious attitude! None of the other little guys want to be within a stink eye shot of her. I've read here that it can take up to 2 weeks before they warm up to each other. Just wanted to make the introduction and hope to be talking with some of you here in the future.
