My 3 month goose has just been stung by a bee and its left eye is shut now. It also seems upset. I have put it in shade. Someone please let me know if it’s fine. I wasn’t there when it was stung so don’t know exactly where, but I presume the head as it has affected the eye. Thank you

Could you post a picture?

@FrostRanger is right, most bee stings swell up and then resolve themselves. Make sure they have cool clean water to dunk their face in and also to keep the wound clean.

If it’s bothering them too much you can give them a bit of baby Benadryl if you have any.

Just remember to keep them somewhere cool out of the sun and away from stress while they’re drowsy from it.

It’s currently sleeping in a dark place right now, don’t want to wake it up with the flash on my phone. I’ll send a picture tomorrow if it’s still like that. He just seems very lethargic, which I’ve only seen from him when he was smaller. Then again, it’s probably the pain of the bee sting. Thank you.

He’s probably very sore, poor little guy!

It’s morning now and he’s even worse 🙁. He’s slightly pecking at his water and slightly eating. He’s also tripping a lot as if he can’t see.

How quickly did his symptoms come on? Are you sure it was a bee sting and not some sort of infection?
I’m sure it was a bee sting. I left the door open for his coop area and he approached the beehive area in my garden. I ran to him as I saw through the window but I was too late. The symptoms were instant. His eye shut straight away. However right now, his eye is more or less open, however there is a worrying grey/
Foggy layer on his eye
