It is a shame that some people try to take advantage of others like that.

Sounds like you didn't get what you paid for. Did you pay with PayPal ~ if so you may wish to dispute the charge.

I did pay with paypal. I got them from someone on egg bid. I am just sick about all of this. Some of the pullet I got for my dad for his birthday and fathers day. He wants a blue egg laying chicken. I sure did not need and roos...can't get eggs from them.

There was a BYC member who recently won a full refund on poorly package broken eggs so you may be able to get your money back and get the birds you really want from someone else.

How to Dispute a PayPal Transaction

PayPal transactions can be disputed under two circumstances: when you think a transaction was an unauthorized use of your account or when an item you purchased wasn't as described or was never received. The process isn't difficult to initiate, though a dispute that is escalated to a claim can sometimes take a long time to be resolved. Regardless, if you are within the allotted time frame and have concerns, it's best to begin the process.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* PayPal account
* Transaction details

Open an Item Dispute

Step 1 ~ Gather relevant information for the transaction with which you have an issue, including the transaction ID and the date on which it occurred.

Step 2 ~ Choose the "Resolution Center" tab on the "Account Overview" page of your PayPal account. Click on the "Report a Problem" link in the Resolution Center.

Step 3 ~ Select "Item Dispute" for a case in which you didn't get an item or the item is not as it was described.

Step 4 ~ Enter the transaction ID and tell PayPal in detail about the problem. You will then post a message to the seller, which PayPal will send along with an email stating that a dispute has been opened.

Step 5 ~ Watch your eBay or PayPal account for messages from the seller and log in to the Resolution Center to read them.

Step 6 ~ Keep an eye on the deadline in the Resolution Center as you try to negotiate a reasonable solution with the other party. Either party has 20 days to escalate a dispute to a claim before the dispute closes.

Step 7 ~ Close the dispute if you work out a satisfactory agreement with the other party. File a claim if you have not been able to resolve the issue. Filing a claim takes the dispute out of your hands, making PayPal the deciding entity.

PhlyinPheBee, file a dispute with Paypal. Don't let someone dupe you like this. I assure you not everyone is out to take advantage of another person. You should leave appropriate feedback as well.

I only have bantam araucanas, and if I hadn't just sold off my extras, I'd send you some if you wanted them. The only thing I have right now are chicks that are too young to ship. Would you like to try some hatching eggs? They are bantams. I only ask that you cover the cost of shipping. You'll probably get mostly rumpless chicks and about 1/3 lately have been tufted. I do have one tailed hen in my flock that has gorgeous double tufts. PM if you are interested in bantam eggs from REAL araucanas. Of course, I can't guarantee what will hatch gender wise, but mine do lay a good sized egg for a bantam.

I cannot believe this. I paid $104.90 total for 6 pullets, roo was free and shipping that was crazy high.

I will take better pics this afternoon and post.

All I wanted was blue egg layers for my dad.

How can someone know that and send almost all roos and sleep at night.

I just went out and all the birds are great. They ate all of their food and when I gave more they attacked it!!!!! I am looking at the NPIP papers and it says that they Standard Araucanas and shipped were 6 pullets and 1 roo. So I am sooooooooooooooo confussed.

I would contact the seller and let him know what you believe you have. You should get another hen to replace the roo that died. Thats a no brainer. I hope you took pics. Send the pics you showed us to the seller and tell them you would like replacement birds for the roos and you want hens. I recently purchased 4 pullets and recieved a roo for free from eggbid and received exactly what I paid for. With araucanas it seems everything is doubly stressful because you have a hard time finding them then something happens when you do get them.

So sorry for your trouble.

If they don't have tufts now they wont later unless the tufts were pecked out by another bird. The listing on eggbid did it say clean faced or tufted. Most say what the bird is and usually show pics of what you are buying.

I couldn't find the auction you won on eggbid. I wanted to check the seller and see the specifics on the listing. Needless to say a dead bird in shipping is reprehensible and would like to make sure I don't buy from that seller, since I use eggbid for araucanas regularly.

Update...I have received a refund for the full amount of the birds and shipping. Also it turns out that there was 6 roos and 1 pullet. I got them from someone on eggbid but not on a auction. My mom and I have gone in together and we have ordered some chicks from someone else. Reason for the first birds was to have older birds that would be pullets. Well that did not work out so we are going to do chicks. I did not want to order anything else on line but my dad had his heart set on the blue eggs!!!!
