New around here

[Redroof newbie]

Hello! I recently moved to the countryside and decided to get some chickens. A friend hatches for a farmer/breeder and got me 6 Silkie chicks. They are about 2 months old now and I've been keeping them outside fulltime now in their enclosed run. I have no previous experience with chickens and am hoping to sign my kids up for 4 H with them for a possibility of showing at the fair this September.
I hope to get some eggs and then maybe try other breeds in the future. Right now we are waiting to see if there is a rooster in our little flock or not.
