New Australian Hatching Mystery Egg at Home

Not a lot of change! It keeps poking it's beak/bill/whatever out of the membrane and tapping around. It hasn't got a solid hole or anything yet, but a sort of gash or slashed slit sort of thing. It seems to be chipping upwards, rather than around, but maybe it will get to zipping aroundwards in a little while.

As for names, because apparently the gardner saw it first, (but just left it!) we thought we should name it something to do with the garden if it hatches. Our most successful crop here is our Basil crop, and we thought Basil might be a cute name! Other suggestions are of course Fluffy, and Jemima (after my very favourite Jemima Puddleduck!), but the latter is not as cross-gender friendly.
