We found this form while looking desperately for help with our Australorp chicks - my husband has them in Pakistan, half are one month old and half are two weeks old. We believe them to be unvaccinated . We lost a handful in the first few days, wobbly legs, failure to thrive etc. They have been having electrolytes to cope with the heat. Today we lost 4 chicks and others are weakening. The deaths are all from the first batch.
Unfortunately we cannot find a reliable vet and he has been told varying things - husband did an autopsy on one and showed a vet who stated the liver was affected.
Symptoms - fluffing up, listlessness, not eating, sudden death.
I think coccidiosis? Would that cause issues with the liver?
We are currently giving them Jetepar for the liver - the sick ones. And Coxicure for the others - until we get hold of some Amprolium locally there.
Any advice would be appreciated before we lose our first flock entirely !!!!

So sorry it's on this sad note. It sounds like you're on the right track to get some amprolium, but hopefully others in the ER forum will have some other ideas to help.
