So after all my frustration over all five of my Easter Egger chicks turning out to be roosters, I decided to take the kids to pick out a couple of sexed hens. I'd thought they only had Red and Black Sex links, White and Brown Leghorns and a bunch of Buff Orpingtons there when my younger daughter noticed two tiny solid black chicks with bluish white throats that looked much "fluffier" than the rest of the Black Sex Links. And, of course, one of those is the one she had to have. I think she's a Black Orpington which is awesome since both girls wanted some mellow snuggly chickens.

Thanks. Yeah, they seem pretty healthy. They're bright and active at least. The black one is a bit thin but its nothing a little good grower feed won't fix.
