New babies, help bonding

Do you have a pond or wade pool for your babies yet? They are still too young to swim unsupervised but I bet they would like 10-15 min. baths daily. My daughter sits in our kiddie pool and our ducks swim all around her, When they get tired they just climb up on her lap and preen their feathers. I think swimming with their human has been a huge factor in the affection they have for her.

I don't want to hijack your thread, so I won't post a picture unless you want me too.
I would much rather see you post pics of your babies swimming.

I put them in the tub with warm water and made sure is was shallow enough that they could still touch a bit. They LOVED it! I only took a video so I don't have any pictures to post unfortunately.

View attachment 1828467 I made this for my ducklings after their first week with chick waterer . Any plastic container with a lid will do just has to start off short.

That's genius. I have the same containers so I'll definitely have to do that. Thanks for the idea!

Does anyone use feather dusters to give them a place to hide? I saw someone suggest that but I'm worried they'll try to eat it...

A stuffed animal no strings and a mirror works wonders I have two Runner ducklings now who love to lay in front of their mirror an play kissy face. And they sleep with their stuffed chicken

That's a great idea. I gave them a mirror and they loved it but my crazy mind was like "is this hurting their bonding with me?". Perhaps it was jealousy because they loved it so much.

Hasn’t stopped mine from bonding with me. They love their mirror but they follow me like I am their mama. Their on the patio with me now playing In the dogs water bowl.

I went ahead and uploaded a short video of my daughter with Kai. Thunder and Avalon are chillin in the background. When 3 ducks and my daughter are all in the pool it gets crowded. I think were gonna need a bigger pool.
