New Babies in Flock

What do your facilities look like? How much room do you have in the coop? How much room do you have in the run? Do you free range? Do you have a photo showing your coop and run together and a photo showing how the inside of your coop is laid out? To me, what you are working with is extremely important to how I suggest you approach this. With you only having two adults I'm concerned your facilities may be fairly small. The more room you have the better.

There are several techniques you can use to try to make this work better, even if your facilities are kind of small. To further complicate it, each chicken has its own personality. Even if the facilities are identical, you don't always get the same results. You've seen some of the hoops some people jump through to get good results. Dad used to take chicks to the hen house area and turn them loose, no prep whatsoever. It doesn't get any easier than this. His flock was free ranging, no fences or boundaries. Predator protection was a different issue but integration was a piece of cake. How much room you have does matter. I don't have that much room so I can't use his technique.

If I knew what you are working with I might be able to come up with recommendations that fit your situation. Right now, I don't know what to suggest.
