I just purchased eight bantam chicks last night from a farm & ranch store. This morning two of them were just sitting and cheeping, not having any interest in eating or drinking (I dipped their beaks in the water). The other chicks are doing fine, eating and drinking, walking around. Any suggestions on what to do? I really hate to lose any...

Hi
Boil some eggs and give it to them..Give them the yoke first...I've raised most of my chicks on boil eggs and chick starter and never lost a one...Hope this helps!!

You're welcome Hon! I meant to mention giving them some sugar water also..This will perk them up..

What I do is put a cup of sugar to a gallon of water and boil it till the sugar melts..Then let it cool...I'd give it to them for about a month if I were you..
It has always worked for me...
Good Luck!

They perked up and started eating, but I had lost one by the time I got home. I believe it was smothered, despite my best efforts to keep the brooder box warm enough for that not to happen. Meh...
