Just received an order of 8 chicks from Meyer. One chick can't walk or open its eyes. It just sits with its head pointed straight up. Started pedialyte by dropper and it has drunk some. Any ideas on what's wrong or what I need to be doing? Thanks in advance or any help.

Do what you can. Keep getting fluids in.
Some shipped chicks don't make it. In fact, some home grown chicks don't make it. All kinds of things can knock them down before one can figure out what's wrong.

I ordered 8 chicks from Meyer's, too, AND got them today, just like you.

And I also have one chick (a little Barred Rock) who is very wobbly compared to the others. I'm keeping her drinking and warm. Hard to get her to eat though. Not sure what else I can do for her.

So I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.

You can also get a packet at the feed store called save a chick. It will help with her electrolyte and sugars and is made just for this reason! One pack is about 1 dollar. This will help your chick greatly and most all feed stores carry it. Just ask the workers at the feed store for "save a chick". It comes in a little tiny packet. I would get it as soon as possible! Hope this helps and I wish you the best.

Thanks for all your help but I ended up having to do the humane thing. Poor girl just didn't have it in her. Tried everything but it got to the point where I could tell she was in pain.

Good luck greeneggsnspam, hope your girl (or guy) fares well.
