New baby chick owner!

Hey guys!
My name is Alisha and I am a proud new mom to 6 Dominique baby chicks. I’ve never owned chickens before so I am looking for advice to ensure they live their best spoiled lives. Right now I am keeping them in my home to ensure their safety from predators since I do live in the country. I did attach a picture of their container for when I brought them outside to enjoy some sunshine.
Can’t wait to hear from you guys!!
Welcome

No not yet. I’m trying to find plans to build because coops are so expensive. I have the spot picked out and the material for the run but I’m still looking for coop plans

I don’t want to scare you but chicks grow FAST. You’ve got maybe 4-5 weeks before they will have to have a bigger enclosure. If you build one make it bigger than what you think you need. Buying a prefab shed isn’t a bad way to go. Comparable to price of chicken coop but usually much larger, but you would need to modify it to suit their needs. We build a coop with no experience and it took a little longer than expected but was also easier than expected. I wish you the best of luck and happy chickening!

Congrats on the chicks! You're gonna love them and love it here! :welcome :welcome

CL is Craigslist. That’s where I bought my first coop and I still use it to this day. It was $500 for a coop that was $1500 brand new and is big enough for 20 birds.
