New baby chick with injured foot

Hi! My name is Whitney I have owned chickens for about four years now and still lots to learn. This is my first time letting my broody hens hatch some chicks. So far two have not made it and four are doing great. Yesterday I came home to a new hatchling and idk if the other hens or roosters got it but it’s little foot is injured he won’t put pressure on it! Any advise.

Hello, welcome to BYC. I agree with @New duck mommy 2021 I would seperate them, especially since you don't know how the chick was injured.

@Eggcessive @azygous do you have any treatment suggestions?

yeah we had an injured chick once. Its leg was so bad it couldn't eat and drink. make sure it gets plenty of food and water to regain strength.

Hello, and welcome to BYC. Is the chick mobile ? I would separate the hen and chicks from the flock -

Do you see in obvious injury? Scab or blood? Or is the chick merely limping or not putting weight on the foot? Does it stand with legs splayed?

Yes I actually have three inside after mom killed the last baby I added so she has three with her and I have the other three inside.
