NEW BABY CHICK!!!

Our Hen hatched out baby chick! I was checking under the hen to see if any new eggs had been tucked under her from the other chickens and noticed a broken shell... At first I was upset thinking she had brok it open then.. walla a baby chicken!!! aww So exciting and so nervous! lol So excited for a new Mommy hen. I think the chicken is out of one of the Rhode Island reds. The hen sitting on the batch of eggs is a Buff Orpington. The Rooster looks like a Brahma but does not have the fuzzy feet. I'm interested to see what the chick looks like when it gets older. So FUN! To see the rest of the babies come out too! We just got chickens last SEptember and this has been so much fun, love seeing them and them grow

I have a new baby chick also. Cheeping like a little maniac. There are 2 other eggs right now, 1 pipping and 1 I cant see any pipping yet. Both of the two are rocking every now and then. I guess we'll see what the night brings. This was day 19 today. I am going to name the first one Hail Mary! We have had a horrible devastating storm in my area. My daughters house about 8 miles from me has broken windows leaking everywhere and siding all pitted. They just made it to the basement and the u no what hit the fan. That's another story.

Ha I know what you mean its nearly 2 am here and I keep going outside to check on the incubator in the summer house!

Mine are in the dining room and I'm in my little spare room around the corner. I have one very noisy baby and 3 other eggs pipping and maybe one other. It's hard to tell it looks like it has a little crack on the bottom. Two of the 3 eggs are about to have breakthroughs. Little birds are working real hard. The one egg I expected to go first hasn't done anything but I could see it moving when I candled it two times. I hope it's still okay. I'll keep you posted.

I forgot to ask you. Have you gotten any babies or pipping yet? This is the second batch I have hatched and this one is early too. good luck!
