OK everyone This is probably one of the dumbest questions ever asked on here but i just dont know.
I have been raising chickens for just over a year now we started with 2 for the kids easter and now have a hen house and about 40 chickens (lol)
The wife decided to let one of the hens sit on a few eggs just for the kids to see them hatch and last night 2 of the 10 she was sitting on hatched. OK no problems but here is the Question these two babies are up in the nesting box so how do they get to the water or should we remove them from her and put in a brooder??
Sorry its so long but i dont know what to do from this point

We would like to leave them with the hen. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I just had one hatch TODAY and I'm freaking out, too! It's on the ground with mama in a dog cage but I'm wondering what to feed it. Called all the feed stores yesterday and they all only had 50 lb. bags of chick starter. I don't need that for one (possibly two, if the other one hatches)!

You said up in the nesting box? If it is raised I would move them down asap, mama will try to take them to eat and drink and they will fall, plus they cant return to the nest. Make her a nest at ground level. Just have starter and water available where the chicks can reach, someone said mama will eat the starter too, the extra protein helps her recover from sitting the nest.
