New baby chicks.

Hi, my hen has just laid 2 eggs that we have decided to keep and try to hatch chicks. However I have recently read that you should not let the eggs get poop on them because of the bacteria rate. Is it safe to move the eggs and how do you wash them? Thank you very much!

If you are letting the hen set on them just scrape off any poops as best you can, don't wash them then they do lose 1 line of defence with the coating over the egg.

If you are incubating, do the same. Have fun and hope they hatch out for you. Steve
