New baby chicks

So with new chicks do you try n keep all the ages together or by breed? I have chicks that are about 2 weeks and a few that or 3.5 I think. Anyways, the older ones have got their feathers and are flying all across their brooder (tote home) and wondering if I should separate them? The others aren't quite flying yet. Or is it better too keep all breeds, differ ages, all together for warmth, etc??
