new baby geese

Morning all.

Donna we are fine, just a little ole tropical storm (they are nothing more than a strong super cell or severe thunderstorm really). The news just like to over hype everything now a days. It did bring a BUNCh of rain, but the standing water in the front is all but gone this morning with the sun shining again.

Glad your munchkins figured out the pool is their best friend finally.

good was worried about you. I know what you mean about the news they always make it worse than what it really is. I bet the geese like all that rain!!

they sure do. This week was hard to get the flocks to goto bed becasue they wanted to stomp in the standing water. Even the goslings (we turned all the babies out with their flocks this week) wouldnt come in as the puddles were far too much fun.

Our New Babies Tony and Pepper.....

Tony is a bit bigger than Pepper so we are still having trouble telling them apart. LOL
That is Olive in the back ground. She likes them but Brutus on the other hand not so much. He keeps biting at them.
Not sure what to do. We keep telling him NO. Olive just mothers them when Brutus lets her.

All four of our Toulouse Kids....
Way in the back is Pepper (our gray baby) then Tony to the left (other gray baby) then Olive (buff) and closest is Brutus(buff)

OK I know this isn't a goose but it is for the geese I went and got me a puppy yesterday she is so cute, named her Bell. So my little farm is growing more by the month. Also just got two baby black copper marans and I have a broody hen so got some maran eggs to put under her 8 to start with but the other hens kept getting in with her to lay there eggs and broke all but two so will have 2 more baby chicks late next week if all goes well. Everybody calls it chicken math but I think it should be called barnyard math which would include everything!!!

She was such a mess had to pick all the burs off of her and give her a bath. Bell has never been around people so she was a little afraid but it was pretty easy to get a collar on her and take her for a walk. For never having no interaction with people she is doing really well. The picture is a little dark and it wont let me add another one for some reason?

ver...... do the geese like her? Why has she never been around people? ? Our new little ones are doing great. Getting so big. They are very personable. Olive and Brutus keep to themselves. Olive hurt one of her legs. She has been limping for a week now not as bad as she was at first. We are watching her and keeping her activity down. Not sure what else to do. They are so big now. Their wings are huge. Absolutely beautiful.

They are so beautiful with there new feathers. How did Olive hurt her leg? hope she minds with no problems. Well we didn't get the puppy until late last night and I had to go to town to get her shots and we just got home, so I haven't had a chance to show her the geese yet. We got her from a farmer that lives not to far from us and he has the dogs working the ranch so he don't interact with them except to feed them so will have to interduce her to people as we go but she learns fast. Last night was the first time she had a coller on and she did really well for not having one before. Had to get up and take her outside all night long just like a baby and about 5:30 this morning I just couldn't get up no more so we had an accident on the floor but up until then she would whine to get out so that was good will see what tonight brings.

Not sure how she hurt her leg. ;-( at first she was falling down. So I put them in a small space for a day to reduce the amount of walking. And now she has a slight limp. Still noticeable but better.
Heres a pic of Tony anf Pepper
