I have to say that is too funny. Poor Roger. Have your wife hold a baby and sit in her chair and see if Roger will come and check out the new baby up close. It may be that the are four of them running at her that scares her. Ask shellie from celtic farms what types of geese you can get to mate with yours. I think there is a couple of different choices. The more options you have, the higher your chances of getting a good mate faster.

Thank you all so much for the great advice. Roger has always been such a sweetie and now seems a little more interested in the new babies. She has approached them several times and seems to gently nip but never hurts them. We will continue to keep them close but separated and hopefully Rogers motherly instincts will kick in! By the way, she is loosing all her flight feathers (I assume she is moulting?) and isn't taking her daily bath or swim in her pool. Does anyone know if her feathers have anything to do with her not loving her water or is she just rebeling??

ok ordered my new babies Dewlap Toulouse Goslings and cannot wait till they get here I feel like a little kid waiting for the big prize!! I am so glad I found this site will be needing advice I'm sure. My lilttle farm is coming together just fine now all I need is a baby calf. somwhere down the line!!

I always feel like a little kid or expectant mother when I am waiting too!

Okay Donna, what are you getting this time? ??? We are getting two grays in a week. Meeting up with Shellie to pick them up. We are soooo super duper exited. Olive and Brutus have gotten so big. They stay outside now all the time and they love it. Post pics when you get your new little ones.

no I'm not getting anymore that was an old post. I would like to get the gray though, maybe next year. I did get me some black copper maran pullets and some eggs for my broody hen. I lost my rooster last summer so didn't have fertile eggs and I wanted to change up my hens so will try the marans this time. I have orpington, amercana,and golden lace wyndott. I like the orpington and amercana the best hoping the marans have a good personality to.
Olive and Brutus do they get in the there pond by there self and do you have to stay out there with them to stay in. Gus and Ms Lily wont stay in without me being right there with them. I hope as the weather gets hotter they wont wait for me to cool off silly geese. You will have to post pics when you get your new babies. did you get your new pond built yet?

We just discoverd that those two stinkers are getting in the pool all the time when we are gone. They love it now. They are so big. They have their breast feathers and wings and have quite a bit of tail as well. I will post pics this weekend. Been super busy with school this week. We are gonna take them swimming in the big pool with us this weekend. Should be fun.

We just discoverd that those two stinkers are getting in the pool all the time when we are gone. They love it now. They are so big. They have their breast feathers and wings and have quite a bit of tail as well. I will post pics this weekend. Been super busy with school this week. We are gonna take them swimming in the big pool with us this weekend. Should be fun.

Mine are getting there feathers also, they look all fuzzy on there heads right now must be going to get there head feathers soon. Gus and Ms Lily still want me out there when they get in the water but I thought one day it looked like they might have got in there when I wasn't looking ?sneaky little things. We have been busy also family from out of town and graduation I will try and post some pictures to, can't wait to see yours to.
