new baby geese

yes they will bite the geese, they are a royal pain really to deal with when you have geese in the same space

we use the kiddie pools that are medium sized (not those jumbos too hard to dump and not break the sides down) we also have 1 peanut shaped black pool set in the ground with an attached drain line from the bottom and adding a second to the same space for the dewlaps. They LOVE the ponds set into the ground.
I'm going to do somthing like that, I just have to think about it for awhile. This ground down here is full of rocks and a real pain in the but to dig, so I only want to do it once and want it to be right. Sure do love these little goosling, people that don't have animals don't know what they are missing..

Thanks Shellie, That all makes sense. We took 3 of the eggs as she couldn't keep them all under her and she didn't even know it. We kicked out the males for a few days and she is much happier. They were very docile. I just picked them up and carried them out not even a peck from them just some hissing. We will remove them and do just as you suggest. Thanks again. Also, Olive and Brutus who are getting to be very big babies lol don't seem interested in swimming. What can we do to get them in the water without freaking them out??
Thanks Hope and Jeff

My neighbor just pours boiling hot water into the fire ants nest and it gets rid of them. SHe is a master gardner and doesn't use any pesticides in her yard. Hope this helps.

Donna you can use landscape bricks and create a raised area to set the pool in and backfil with dirt. It allows you have a drain pipe with a valve on the end to drain the water out. I would suggest an earth ramp leading up the edge so they arent walking on the bricks to get in as it can be hard on their feet.

Hope, Give them time, they will getto where they love the water. Our adults run when they see the pools being drained and stand around complaining until they are refilled. We have your grey babies going outside starting tomorrow with the big kid crew so they will learn the joys of the pools and maybe teach the buffs lol. Thinking the weekend of June 1 for a road trip.

Hope with Gus and Ms Lily they wont stay in the water unless I am right there with them with my hand in the water splashing like I'm having fun. I guess they think your there mom and you should be in there if they are. Did you get your water feature done?

We havent started the water feature yet. We are going to get the materials today. But we saw your pretty pink pool and we are gonna go get one for them today as well. I will try sitting closer with them and play. I just love it.

Just went out to check on Guss and Ms Lily and the are siting in the shade just panting they are so hot so thought I would go in the garden to see if they would get in the water, that's all it took for Guss he went right in. Ms lily wanted to but the pool is a little high for her and she isn't sure of the boards I have there for them, so when she got close to me I got her and put her in the pool and she just took off under the water and just going everywhere. After Ms Lily settled down Gus started he just put his Head under the water and took off little miss prissy Lily didn't like it and got out of the pool. that was all OK for Gus he had it all to his self. I just sit there and laugh it is hilarious to watch them.
Hope, you might have to put them in and then stay real close to the pool and put your hand in the water until they get used to it and then you can't move very far away or they will want to get out. 95 degrees out today

LOL But we will keep trying. They are getting HUGE!!!! they like to be cuddled and have their beeks rubbed. Brutus is very inquisitive and Olive is more cautious. They eat like nothing I have ever seen. I haven't mowed the grass in their area so they could eat it and they did just that. Looks like I mowed it nice and neatly. Today they met the cat. That was funny. They taught her a lesson.

Brutus made the cat back off....Meanwhile Olive didn't even care the cat was there.

This is Olive up close and Brutus in the back. They have only drank out of the cement pan. No swimming yet.
Getting BIG......

Okay, I just was looking around here and can you tell me what the heck it means that I just hatched and what my ovation is??LOL How do I grow??
