New Baby goat and Deer picture.. Cute!!!

I even make butter! I pasturize the milk and let it sit in the fridge overnight, then scoop off the cream and freeze it until I get enough. It was funny, I was mixing it in my mixer, it just kept getting creamy and thick, I gave up and put it in the fridge. then I posted on my dairy goat message board, someone said take it out of the fridge and put it back in the mixer since it was colder, and after a few spins, it started sloshing and the buttermilk came out! I had butter! It was great!!!

sounds yummy!..now i really want a doe!..;o)...question for you..i have a 3 week old male alpine..well last week when i picked him up, i noticed his belly button had fallen off, and he must of gotten an infectionn in it...there was pus where his belly button used to be...his temp was 103.9..so i put a little peroxide on it to flush it out a bit....let it dry, and than but betadine around it...and bandaged it up..next day he went to the vet..and he sent me home with antibotic shots to give him for 5 days...well,,they ended today..and this morning there was still pus drainage there, (has been all along), but temp was 102.6...so the temp seems fine,he's eating/drinking great..but i'm still concerned about the wet wound...i was bandaging it ..hoping to keep it cleaner, and help avoid flys laying eggs in it..but the vet said to keep it open(i guess to help it dry up),are there any other things i can do..i was thinking of washing the wound with a saline solution..to help dry it up..any other ideas..i'm gonna call vet again tomorrow(he was out today)...so any other ideas i'd appreciate...i'm not to crazy about this vet...(but there are not many farm vets around here)he's the one that would of let my pot belly piglet die of pnuemonia last year...he's not very pro-active...if you know what i mean...and with a belly button infection...it can get bad quickly...but..his temp seems okay..so..(wow!..sorry, i am long winded!!)thanks for any info..Wendy

some people dip the cord in iodine when the baby is born, I let it dry up unitil it falls off, did it get pulled somehow.
I would spray it with iodine.. you can get a diluted amount. I saw a site where they used 7% iodine on the navel.
You might want to post in the emergency section. there are alot of people here who have goats.

Love the pictures! Your place looks really nice! I like the wheels there by the tree. I was wondering if goats and deer were related as they seem to run alike.

Thanks for sharing that deer/goat pictures.
