They are EE's some have the Americana traits though. There is a ranch not too far from me I might buy some back australorp hatching eggs from. They built my coop and it was inexpensive but really nice.

Wish we had a farm like that out here! It's a battle to find certain breeds out here. Most farms only carry up to three breeds out here and there is a LOT of the same.
 
I looked through some of the breed characteristics and decided on those because they are a hardy bird and do well in colder climates as well as prolific egg layers! So I'll let you know when I get some and set the eggs....I think I'm addicted to hatching!! I'm going to be giving my cousin some of the babies I've hatched. Her daughter is so egg-cited!!! Too cute.
