We are brand new to chickens! We brought our chicks home 7 weeks ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

5! But we have a (very handsome) barred rock that has shown himself to be a rooster, sadly, and will have to be re-homed as it's not allowed where I live. Please contact me if that interests you.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Barred Rock, Easter Egger, Polish, Lavender Orpington, and Cochin.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Getting to know the chickens! Spending time with them, and winning them over.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Watching soccer, video games, LEGO, anything with the family.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

2 cats! They are enjoying watching the chickens out the window.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I used BYC for the year of research prior to actually getting chickens, then finally made a profile due to our incorrectly sexed rooster. :( However, I'm happy to be here!
