I still don’t agree. I was playing Sousa’s Thunderer just now. He’s the composer and I’m the musician. I am not an artist .

At least I now understand everyone else’s thought process .

You technically are, in fact, an artist. You can see art, including reading it. You can hear art as well.

If I go to an art museum, I'm going to see art. I will take my time on the pieces I want to see.

If I go to a concert, I go to hear the art that the musicians are playing.

Good times!! I remember when we creatively manufactured ramps for bikes and skateboards. -then there were the really good times of pretending to be Evel Knievel and attempting to jump that which shouldn't be attempted.

Hmm. Are you a musician, then? Or a performer? Is there a difference? These are the questions that don't really keep me awake at night as I listen to my music.

I agree mostly on the books. My daughters teacher suggested 'The Hatchet' to my daughter. Good book, but not for a 6 yo!

I loved The Hatchet when I was little. We had to read The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. In middle and high school. Hated it. Still hate it. But I loved reading Gift of the Magi. That one was great

I agree with you! I am exactly like that. Why can't the news do a nice story for once?

If your ready to be traumatized, read 'Go set a Watchman".
Harper Lee wrote it before 'Mockingbird' but it wasn't published until 2015.
It was a first draft of Mockingbird and a lot of the heroes come out tarnished by bigotry.

My daughter's (22) reading list was heavy on dystopian novels.
I think they were meant to be a cautionary tale but the kids saw them as an alternative where they wouldn't have to deal with real life. (school, relationships, mortgages, jobs.)
