I started raising chickens about four years ago. I started with twelve. Three turned out to be roosters, so we traded them for new hens. My flock was Fluffball, Chia, Fuzzyfoot, Alfredo, Ripbeak, Shredder, Potpie, Fennel, Apostophe, Moonbeam, Eliza, and Shaker, all unidentified hybrids. A fox got five, and then another died of an unknown cause. I dispersed all but Fluffball recently, who is as of now setting on plastic easter eggs. I've ordered a flock of fifteen from Murray McMurray hatchery, and I'm awaiting their arrival. I've been surfing around on backyard chickens for about a year. I'm hoping Fluffball, (The golden one,) will adopt the chicks when they come.

It's great to start on BYC.

Hey @Gallinarium great to have you here!

I'm VERY curious about your experience the last 4 years! Did you only know about BYC for the last year and not 4 years ago when you started?

Also, I'd love to know what finally got you to join now, after browsing around for a while?

We're always trying to improve things and make BYC better for old and new members alike :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

Good luck with your chicks! If you run into any issues with the broody, you can always brood them yourself. Feel free to browse around the forums or ask us for help.

Welcome to our community! :-)
