New backyard flock

I am starting a new flock i currently have no chickens. I have been reading things about quarantining them. If i buy different breeds from the same place do I need to quarantine them separately,or can I quarantine them altogether and for how long? also what do I look for during this period?

If you don't currently have any chickens and you're getting chickens from the same source then you wouldn't need to quarantine them. Quarantining keeps new chickens from introducing diseases to the chickens you already have. Check them for signs of parasites (lice, mites, etc), any respiratory problems, and other strange behavior.
