New bantam chick question

A wonderful woman just gave me a mother bantam hen with 6 baby chicks. I have never had an adult chicken yet, so, does she still lay eggs while raising baby chicks? I not, when does she, because I will have to make some place for her to lay them.. Any advice???

I have never had a hen lay while raising chicks and sometimes it's a few months after the chicks are away from her for mine to start laying again. I have had many hens with babies now and so far all the same

I dont believe they do, their too focused on raising the chicks they have now then making more chicks. atleast I've never had one lay while she still had chicks with her
