Well, we got Lola a friend yesterday, and she is doing SO much better.. slept better last night, and was so much more playful right before "bedtime".

When we went back to the feed store, they didn't have anymore cochin chicks left.. so we got a different breed, and looking at the breed pages, and this babies newly sprouted wing feathers, I think it's a black tailed Japanese? I'm not positive, but that's the pic that most closely matches our little cutie. I'll try to post some of the pics I took later.

Anyone else have these type of Bantams? I have read up on cochins, but this other breed is new to me.. but ohh so cute. And they were so adorable loving on each other and playing together! I'm smitten, and two is definately NOT going to be enough!

I have Japanese bantams.

They're lovely and so sweet with each other! My rooster will get in the nest box with my hen when she lays. The hen makes a good broody mama too, when she does brood eggs.

I just think she's adorable.. I am insisting on calling them "she's" ans my son is convinced one is a "he", but I guess we will have to wait until later to know for sure!

My son named our new one Pinoccio cause when the sits on his finger she bobs her head up and down to balance, and looks like a "puppet with strings"

As we left the fed store for home, we stopped at KFC to get some dinner, and when I pulled up to the window I had Pinoccio in my hand. I told the girl at the drive thru that this nugget was undercooked! William refused to eat with the girls in the brooder box in the room.. he didn't want them to be upset at our choice for an evening meal!
