New Bantam owner, and in Luv!

Pics
I loved having my babies out. Nothing is more special than when they spontaneously come to you. Exercising their own free will and want to come to you. Truly warmed my heart even as they got older and needed me less and less. They still always came to my shoulder at bed time. Soo sweet. I miss having them in here with me. Here finally is the pic of Bubby and Sissy together, has taken forever to get it loaded. View attachment 2156059
Oh they are really beautiful! What kind are they? I see the feather feet, but light skin.

well I let the kiddos out...as soon as I did, i couldn't find Minnie Mouse, turns out she was hiding under the coop (it's on wheels), then one of the silkies ran out and back in. The brave one was Moon Baby, but she didn't care at all about the mealworms. They love veggies, so I'll have to use that next time. It was only a few minutes and they wanted back in the coop! I'll try again later :)

Only one brave soul.. they all were excited to see the veggies though. The silkies still want nothing to do w the outside coop world!

Mine had/have agoraphibia as well. Between everyone wanting to get to em to make sure they know the pecking order and the unfamilliararity they are just now starting to truly enjoy the outdoors. Still a little rough on mixing with tyhe other littles but they get along fantastic with the big girls. There Momma is Sunshine one of my very first Bantams and is a Red Cochin. The daddy of Sissy is a (I think) Mille Fluer D'Uccle. And Bubby is from the intended Father who had a name unfit for this site. Trust me he earned it Nothing but fight fight fight and always at bed time I was constantly having to get girls and boys from under the coop at night because he ke;pt everyone in an uproar. He is gone so I'm glad bubby seems to have bred true That is part of why I kept them in so long is I wanted a red roo that wasnt a Turd.

One thing I've done with all baby birds, and I did the same w Minnie.. i cup them in my hands and then exhale onto them. The heat makes them instantly chill out and cuddle.. like close their eyes and nuzzle!! So when she gets worked up, I do that and she falls asleep. But she is so cute, she doesnt want to let go of my hand when I'm holding her.. she doesnt want to go on any surfaces.. just held and petted. Moon baby (the white one) is starting to enjoy being held, but the smallest, the mille fleur, itll be ready maybe next week, it's too nervous yet.
I'd missed this but yeah that is somthing I learned to do at first with chicks I was bringing from the incubator to the brooder to keep em from beign chilled. learned they loved that and then would crawl into my beard and snuggle in. peepers would be instantly silent and content. love it when a new hatch is coming along I can't get anything done because I have a beard full of babies.

Good thing I"m not a bad guy I could rob em blind :P They know me and the Crazy Chicken lady we go look at em even if we aren't shopping for them . We wash pasty butts for em get stuck chicks un stuck etc. We are their heros. we are often gifted a sickly or lone chick. Somtimes it's heart break when they don't make it but they go out knowing love and care they are given a chance and if they are just suffering I make the mean old chickie mamma send em on. I did it and did it for a while and just can't, anymore. I would if she wan't here and do if its one of her faves. But my old heart is getting soft and it hurts more to put an animal down than it did in the past.
