New barn starting - question about coop size/amount of birds

We are about to break ground on our new barn. I just want to know how many hens an 8x16 coop is suitable for if they are only in at night. Hubby is going to make a separate brooding room that is completely insulated for when I raise babies, and I'll have to have something for the in-betweens, but, overall, they will roost in the 16x8. So how many will be comfortable in there?

For 4 sq. foot per bird, that would easily handle 32 birds..

Thanks. I'll probably have about that many once my meat birds are finished and I give away the ones I've raised for other people. I may have a few extras but they'll be silkies so they won't take up much room.
