7 week duckling started coughing after outing

Took an 7 week duckling on an outing for their daily greeting and now one of them has coughed like 5x in 1 hour.

Any ideas?

I dont think it's the bedding as the other isn't coughing but it constantly gets changed anyways because they make such a mess with the water.

How is your duckling doing now?
A lot of times ducklings will get food, grass, bedding or other debris lodged in their throat/nares. Usually it will resolve itself. Having water deep enough for them to dunk their head in would be a good idea.

She stopped for a day (both ducklings voices became raspyish) and then did cough a handful of times today. But still very active and eating.

But like I said both have like a raspyish voice now, and she hasn't quacked since the coughing the first time.
