That's the problem with forced inactivity. You wind up losing muscle tone all over your body and have to regain it. That's not as easy as it sounds. You also lose endurance and have to build that back up. I was surprised too when they didn't immediately start PT on you. They started it on me 2 days after my surgery at home and one week under therapy guidance.Not exactly. Nor the leg immobilizer either and I forgot to ask. I think what has to happen is I get hooked up with a PT and they evaluate me and tell me what to do next. So yeah, like... tomorrow if not sooner! I really can't start using the walker full time till my arms and shoulders get conditioned.
Safe to say you can expect some tired, sore muscles in the future.


By the end of the day I passed out. Even though DH does all the work! Getting the wheelchair in and out of the car. Pushing me here and there. He's the one who should be exhausted! But he comes home and mows for an hour!
He's amazing.
