New batch of Cornish Cross

I noticed a lot of you feed your chicks 24/7 for many , many weeks. I ordered 25 Cornish X from Welp, they shipped on 4 Aug, so I assume they were born on 3 Aug. The care section on their website says to feed them 24/7 until they are 5 days old. I received them the morning of 6 Aug and implemented the 12/12 feed schedule using Purina Flock Raiser. I have come to call these birds "pigs with feathers". Here are a few pics of my "pigs" taken just a few minutes ago.

The only thing other than the feed is vitamin/electrolytes in their drinking water since it's been blazing hot here.

BTW, they were just moved outside this last weekend and I only lost one, the day after they arrived!

I fed mine 24/7 for a week and then went to the 12 on 12 off feeding.

Here's the latest batch:

Live Processed
11.65 7.89
10.25 7.05
11.35 7.53
11.25 6.65
10.83 7.38
9.10 5.90

How old were they when you processed? Those seem like some pretty hefty weights for processed birds.

Thats awesome! I have all girls-26 so I probably should have gotten the meaties 2 more weeks ahead of time:-( They will be 8 weeks old when we have chickenstock at my house but I thinkIm going to save all (15)of mine for another 2-3 weeks and butcher them solo...next year I am going to be more preparred and get roos-the size difference is amazing-the one you thought was a hen-was she the smallest one you processed?
