I teach high school biology and anatomy. I have been brooding my 5 BR poults in my classroom for the first week and using them as a springboard for various class projects (sustainability, genetics, anatomy).

My seniors have been weighing the poults and measuring several anatomical features daily. We are using it as an excersize in data colection and interpretation.

What I need is a control group to compare thier data against. If anybody is planning on getting day old BBB or BBW poults in the next couple weeks please help me out. What I need is the daily weight of two or three poults for the first ten days. Weight can be in grams (prefered) or ounces. BTW, we have found the best way to id poults is with a dab of dark colored finger nail polish on one of thier nails

Thank you in advance.

Oh, I wish you'd posted this a week ago... I have 6 BBB poults, but they're now 9 days old.

I've got them on 30% gamebird starter, and are already starting to outgrow the Bourbon Reds and Midget whites. If there's any wayI can help, let me know.

Just in case I can't find anybody else, would you mind charting the weight of a couple birds for five days or so. Just let me know what days (assuming the day they arrived in the mail is day 1) you got the measurements.

Thank you so much

This would have been great for me last year to help you. I raised BBB along with my standdard bronzes for Thanksgiving. The largest tom butchered out at 70lbs. They were the most delicious turkey we have ever eaten. This year I am only raising my standards.

Duly noted. I only hope I can keep track of these guys! I painted toenails, but we'll see.
